What is AYUSH Treatment in my policy?

AYUSH stands for the different alternative treatments to modern medical procedures that are covered under health insurance policies that include Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. As the name suggests, these treatments rely on enhancing your natural state. Since the ingredients used in formulation of these treatments are sourced from nature, it proves to give a positive effect on your body. However, they do not completely exclude drug therapies for specific ailments, that's why, these treatments shouldn't be treated as an alternative if your condition is severe.

What is covered in an AYUSH health insurance policy?

AYUSH treatment in health insurance policy covers different in-patient medical expenses such as Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. However, these treatments must be availed at a government-recognised medical facility recognized by the Quality Council of India or the National Accreditation Board on Health. Only then will the compensation in your health insurance plan be paid.
