What is covered under a GMC policy?

A Group Mediclaim policy may cover all or few of the following costs:

  1. Hospitalization Costs - If an individual is admitted for a stay of more than 24 hours, hospitalization costs are reimbursed.
  2. Pre and Post-Hospitalization Charges - This category includes costs incurred both before and after a patient is admitted to the hospital, such as X-rays, medical reports, and medication costs.
  3. Pre-Existing Diseases - This provides immediate coverage for pre-existing conditions including diabetes, hypertension, etc. *
  4. Critical Illness Coverage - The policy may provide coverage for critical illnesses including cancer, cardiovascular conditions, etc.
  5. Maternity and expenses related to a newborn baby. *
  6. Other Add-Ons Available: For a modest additional fee, GMC covers may also offer the option to select add-on covers. Maternity coverage, personal accident coverage, or AYUSH therapy are examples of popular add-ons.*
  7. Other Benefits - Daycare procedures and outpatient medical treatments are frequently covered by a GMC.*

*It is important to check the policy carefully to understand the specific coverage provided for maternity under the policy.
